Steph King

Head Nurse - Cullompton

Steph is head nurse at our Cullompton branch. She graduated as an RVN in 2006, and then completed her Diploma in Advance Veterinary Nursing in 2015. Steph enjoys the surgical and anaesthetic side of veterinary nursing.

She’s used her veterinary nursing career as a passport to see the world, including working with moon bears in China and lions in Cambodia. She came back to Devon to settle near family and cause chaos on the local rugby pitches. She now lives in Cullompton with her cat Forrest, dogs Jess and Pip and husband Karl.

Hayley Rollins-Allen

Senior Nurse - Cullompton

Hayley started her training in 2005 and began her career in a mixed practice where she particularly enjoyed farm and equine work. During this time, she took a few months out working in South Africa and a Rescue centre in Portugal. After qualifying she followed a passion and became a clinical coach, helping the next generation of veterinary nurses. In her spare time Hayley’s passion in life is to walk in the countryside with her Sprocker and riding her horse. She also enjoys capturing the moments behind a lens or on canvas.

Carly Fowler

Senior Nurse - Cullompton

Carly has been at the Vale since 2008, qualifying in 2010 from Hartpury College in Gloucestershire. In her spare time Carly enjoys horse riding, rock climbing, swimming and walking her two very active German Pointers. Carly has taken two sabbaticals during her time with us; the first a year working on a beef ranch in Canada and the second a year working on a beef and sheep ranch in South Dakota USA. Carly has also trained to be a Clinical Coach allowing her to work with the student nurses assisting them with their qualifications.

Sophie Mitchell-Kirk

Senior Nurse - Cullompton

Sophie has been nursing for nearly 10 years. After being a locum at The Vale for two years, she became a full-time member of staff in December 2018. When not at work, Sophie spends most of her time on the dairy farm where she lives with her partner David, two dogs, four cats and six chickens! Sophie has a very keen interest in behaviour and medical nursing.

Toni Bennellick

Registered Veterinary Nurse - Cullompton

Toni is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who has been part of the Cullompton nursing team since 2015. She lives in Bradninch with her partner Frank and their English Springer Spaniel Nellie. When not at work Toni enjoys socialising with friends and running.

Lucy Dechan

Registered Veterinary Nurse - Cullompton

Lucy is one of our registered veterinary nurses. She has two dogs, Reggie and Flo and a horse called Laddie. Lucy also enjoys keeping fit at the gym in her spare time.

Abbie Glinn

Student Veterinary Nurse - Cullompton

Abbie is another one of our student veterinary nurses who joined the vale team in 2016 where she started as a receptionist. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog and riding horses.

Abbie is enjoying learning about medical veterinary nursing and she has a keen interest in nursing patients in the post operative period.

Hannah Williams

Student Veterinary Nurse - Cullompton

Hannah is one of our student Veterinary nurses based mainly at our Cullompton branch. She joined the team in September 2017, where she started as an animal nursing assistant before beginning her training.

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with friends and family, drawing and riding. She has two ponies and a cat called Kevin.

Chiara Giannetti

Animal Nursing Assistant - Cullompton

Chiara is originally from Scotland and worked as an animal care assistance for the SSPCA for 3 years, she then went travelling for around 2 and a half years, exploring countries and volunteering for many animal rehabilitation centres. Chiara is currently completing a Foundation Degree in Animal conservation and loves to spend her time outside and learning new things. She also goes swimming twice a week and loves to cook/bake and taking her dog for walks.

Emma Grandi

Senior Nurse - Tiverton

Emma qualified in 1998 from North Trafford College in Manchester. After working nights for many years at an emergency vets clinic, she moved to the Southwest in 2014. When she has any time Emma enjoys reading, movies and socialising.

Abby Williams

Registered Veterinary Nurse -Tiverton

Abby qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 2017, she use to work in a small animal practice in Exeter that also treated exotic animals, she started at the Vale in 2018. She has trained to be a clinical coach so is able to pass her knowledge on to the student nurses. Abby has a labrador called Honey who she enjoys walking and exploring new places with in her spare time. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Sophie Lines

Student Veterinary Nurse - Tiverton

Sophie has been a student nurse at The Vale since January 2018. She used to work on beef, sheep and dairy farms with a particular interest in young stock and fertility. She spends her free time playing with her dogs, helping on her family small holding or making various gifts with her sewing machine.

Becky Poxon

Nursing Assistant - Tiverton

Becky is a Nursing Assistant at Tiverton. Having worked for The Vale previously Becky has returned to us recently after a break to have a baby boy called Jacob. In her spare time she loves family walks with her border collie Millie. When not working, Becky helps in the family business, with the Horse-Drawn barge.

MaryAnn Griffiths

Senior Nurse - Honiton

MaryAnne Griffiths was born and bred in Honiton and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in early 1999 from Bicton College of Agriculture. Her interest include reading, watching films and spending time with family and friends. MaryAnne joined The Vale when the Honiton centre opened in 2010.

Holly Foster

Senior Nurse - Honiton

Holly graduated in 2008 from the Lynnwood school of veterinary nursing and has worked in and around Devon and Somerset ever since. In 2014 she married her husband and they have two boys, Barnaby and Reuben and a Hungarian vizsla Otis together. Holly’s passion is medical nursing and running clinics, specialising specifically in weight clinics.
